Abstract

The low community participation in village development as a result of the still weak village apparatus and the role of leaders who have not been able to move all elements of society to develop the village. The success of village development in the South Sumedang District area is measured by how much community participation. Weak development in South Sumedang District as a result of the suboptimal role of the leadership of the village head and village apparatus in running village government. The purpose of this study is to measure how much influence the leadership of the village head and village apparatus resources on community participation in village development in Sumedang Selatan District Sumedang Regency. The method in this study is a quantitative method with a total sample of 88 respondents consisting of village heads, village officials and sub-district officials. The results showed the leadership of the village head and village apparatus resources significantly contributed to community participation in village development by 66.5% while the remaining 33.5% was an influence that came from other factors that could influence the success and lead of a village organization. The results of the study the authors recommend that all village officials included in the process of developing the competency of village officials also in every activity the whole community can be involved in a variety of village development activities both in terms of planning, implementation and reporting or auditing the results of activities in a transparent and accountable manner.
